IIMUN GUJARAT -2023
Gajera Trust, in association with IIMUN, represented IIMUN Gujarat 2023 from April 21st–23rd, 2023. The event was hosted by Gajera Global School Pal and supported by Sunita's Makerspace.
The event was divided into three main sections: on the first day, the opening ceremony was organised at Sanjeev Kumar Auditorium, which was attended by Ms. Aditi Raval, the celebrity host; Mr. Bhavya Gandhi, the actor who played Tapu in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah; Ms. Netri Trivedi, the actress known for her work in the Gujarati film Chhello Divas; and Mr. Hemant Kher, the actor known for a web series Scam 1992. DCP-Special Branch Surat, Ms. Hetal Patel, the Mayor of Surat Municipal Corporation, Ms. Hemali Boghawala, and numerous other dignitaries, including Mr. N.R. Soni, the IRS Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, the Provost Dr. Daxesh Thakar, and Executive Committee members from the Self Finance School Management Association. Various cultural programs have been initiated for the day.
521 delegates from 47 educational institutions gathered to debate diverse global issues and current trends on the second day of the sessions for IIMUN Gujarat 2023. There were a total of 17 committees during the conference, each of which addressed a different subject.
Conferences are being held to discuss the government's various plans and initiatives, the RBI's policies, Article 19, and the rights to freedom of speech with a focus on protests and media censorship; the Lok Sabha committee for discussion on the Worship Act of 1991; the Union Budget 2023; the status of the Indian rupee; the United Nations; the COVID-19 pandemic and its aftereffects; the China-Taiwan Crisis and its aftereffects; the OTT and cinema in a post-pandemic world; various characters of the Mahabharata under the CCC committee, the influence of social media on mental health; and the IPL Mega Auctions, the Press and Media. The socials wrapped off the activities on the second day by celebrating World Earth Day, making a commitment to preserve the environment, and organizing a plantation drive. There was a musical event later that evening.
The final day of IIMUN Gujarat 2023, a spiritual day, started with yoga, followed by joy, entertainment, conferences, debating, and much more, and culminated with the award ceremony where dignitaries such as Mr. Ravinder Jassal, the Vice President of Reliance Industries, and Ms. Anal Kotak, Professional culinary expert were welcomed by the Trustee of Gajera Trust, Mr. Bakul Gajera, and the Team of Gajera Trust, followed by their words of wisdom. To provide the students this sort of experience, we went above and beyond in the realm of excellence. The learners acquired priceless lessons that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives from this wonderful event that was packed with knowledge, networking, socials, and inspiration.
Overall, the IIMUN Gujarat 2023 event was very educational and knowledge-filled, gave delegates a forum to discuss a range of world concerns and current trends. The committees were completely captivating and thought-provoking, and the participants left the conference realizing greater detail about the challenges that were at hand.
